If the saying that hot weather heightens tension has any truth, then the Summer of 2013 has been proof. It seemed that the recurring theme of the summer was racial tension in America. These events raised a lot of questions about contemporary issues surrounding race in US.
In 2013, does blatant racism still exist in America, or is it all subliminal? Carefully hidden in the guise of normality, in how people of color interact with the media, or even worse, are patronized by it.
